The Project 

The Manila Kubeta Ko Project is a multi-stakeholder initiative to deliver a portable toilet solution (PTS) to 400 households within Barangay 275-Parola and Barangay 286-Muelle dela Industria within the Capital City.

 

The Project is being undertaken by the City of Manila in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS-RO), Maynilad Water Services, Loowatt and BioDev.

Project Areas

The project areas for the Manila Project Kubeta Ko Barangays 275 and 286, particularly the households along Muelle dela Industria. Both barangays are within San Nicolas in District III, North of Manila. Historically, the site served as a dock for merchant boats, and linked to the commercial and industrial areas interior of the downtown area. The North and South Port Terminals can be seen near the study area. Based on the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Census of Housing and Population, around 19,031 persons reside in Barangay 275 and 3,679 residents in Barangay 286.
